Lake Norman Commissioned painting
Many have already seen this, but even though I completed this in late december I have yet to post it. This commission was done to paint a scene viewable from the client's lot- where their future house will rest. I spent a good 4 hours in some pretty cold weather painting a measly 8x10 alla prima study for this, and although I wanted to work on this mainly from life, scheduling and weather made the final piece completely done in the studio. It was a very pleasing experience to work on something as large as this ( 30x40 inches) and be able to have the piece nearly surround me as I worked.
